SNA hosted Emergency Preparedness Presentation at our Sept. 9 Breakfast

Paul Ellis, Chair of the Milpitas Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Commission, presented information on emergency preparedness. This is a topic of great importance given the year of fires, floods, and wind storms in California and beyond, and given our proximity to major earthquake faults.

Ellis has been actively involved in emergency preparedness in Milpitas for almost a decade. He is currently the Chair of the Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Commission after serving as Vice-Chair the prior two years, and as a Commissioner for 3 years before that. Ellis is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certified Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) instructor. He is also the Emergency Coordinator and Chief Radio Officer for Milpitas ARES/RACES group responsible for providing amateur radio communications for the city in the event of a disaster or declared emergency.
